When I first met Sheila and Ryan, I knew right away it was going to be an amazing experience as their wedding photographer! Between Sheila’s friendly, sweet personality and Ryan’s respectful, caring affection for Sheila, they are just downright wonderful to spend time with! But what is most incredible about this pair is the incredible love they have for their friends, family, and most especially for each other. I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to document their wedding day at White’s Wildwood Retreat. I can’t wait to share all the highlights with you!
First of all, I was incredibly excited because they chose the same venue I did to get married at! White’s Wildwood Retreat is a hidden gem of a wedding venue. They have a beautiful log cabin and lodge that couples can rent for the entire weekend of their wedding. Many couples host their rehearsal dinner there on site. It is also nice to have some close guests stay right there at the venue. It’s so convenient!
One of the things I like best about White’s Wildwood Retreat is the privacy. It is set in a beautiful woodland area that is intimate and private. There are many secluded areas to have special moments like a first look. The beautiful landscaping and surrounding woods provide the most romantic backdrop for a wedding.
The ceremony spot at White’s Wildwood Retreat is in a gorgeous grassy amphitheater. Surrounded by woods and with a lovely, quaint bridge as a backdrop – it is beautiful!

White’s Wildwood Retreat weddings have incredible scenery, a beautiful pavilion with romantic twinkle lights, and lodging options. The venue owners are helpful and kind. Couples get their choice of catering companies and can bring in their own alcohol. There is incredible attention to every detail, including a secret bride’s room attached to the bathroom. And an added bonus – if you walk down the road a little bit, I often find a soft, romantic sunset over the rolling hills.
